City Life/Vida Urbana

The fight against Fannie and Freddie policies is huge– much bigger than a single blockade on Pinedale Road. Unfortunately for Fannie Mae, Olivé Hendricks is in it until the end.

Above: Olivé participates in a CL/VU skit explaining the Homes for All campaign.

Olivé is a longtime leader of the Boston Bank Tenants' Association. A union ironworker, he purchased his condo in 1995. He has lived in his Roslindale neighborhood for over 20 years, but now is facing imminent eviction from Fannie Mae. He was laid off during the economic crisis— the crisis that was caused by the same banks that are kicking him out of his home. He has been back to work for over a year now, and is able to pay rent he's made an offer to repurchase his home.
